Another Night

She decided to cut her hair today

Are you sure of it?
The lady asked

I'm sure of it.
She was determined

Such beautiful long hair...
The lady sighed

She combed it straight

snip, snip, snip

the long strands fell down onto the ground

After that, the lady took her time in trimming the ends

You're all done.
The lady said when she was starting to feel sleepy

Thank you
she said and paid

Why did you cut your hair?
her friends asked
astonished

Just felt like cutting it
It feels nice
she said
smiling radiantly

yes
she felt so alive

she was having so many issues
and it bothered her

even getting a hair cut
was so relieving

it was like all your worries were lifted

she felt rejuvenated
to see things from a different point of view

yes
she was now ready
ready to tackle those troubles
to rid of them

with a positive mind
with a new spirit
with a new found direction

she's going to live her life differently now
to be better

The Clown & The Doll

First Day In Uni (1)

"Aish... why didn't the alarm work?!" Hyesun grumbled to herself while combing her hair and tying it in a ponytail. She woke up half an hour late.Taking her stuff, she rushed to the kitchen.

"Good morning!" Hyesun said when she saw Yoohwan and Jimin.

"Morning!" The two of them smiled. Jimin was eating cereal and Yoohwan was reading the newspaper.

"There's still some prune cake here." Jimin said.

"Thank you. I'm late... I'm gonna go first." Hyesun took a piece and munched on it.

"But isn't it still early?" Yoohwan asked her.

"Huh? Oppa, what are you talking about?" Jimin all wide-eyed.

"It's only 7..." Yoohwan pointed at the clock.

"Eh?... Ah! I set my alarm clock faster by 30 minutes!" Hyesun blushed. Well, at least she's not late.

"Aigoo..." Hyesun sighed as she sat at the dining table. She ate the piece of cake and got herself some coffee as well.

After the breakfast, Yoohwan offered to send her to school since he was sending Jimin as well. Their school was quite near to each other anyway.

Hyesun's POV

Walking to the assembly hall, I saw a line of maybe... around 10 students? They were seriously early since the registration counter only opened when I arrive.

I went in line and double checked my file of papers to make sure I have everything.

"This is going to be a boring wait…" I mumbled. Well… at least I'm still early…

"Yeah… and I heard that there's an orientation at 10am." A girl behind me said.

I turned around to see a beautiful girl with long hair. She was wearing such nice clothes and looked so stylish. A total contrast to me and my formal office blouse and black skirt.

"Really? How did you know?" I asked.

"I asked one of the lecturers here before I came in line." She was arranging her documents in an expensive looking file.

"By the way, I'm Krystal." She smiled and introduced herself after checking her file.

"I'm Hyesun." I shook her hands and noticed the brightly colored and beautifully manicured nails.

"So, you're signing up for which subject?" Krystal asked when I didn't talk after saying my name.

"Umm… Law?" I made an awkward laugh. I wasn't sure if I chose the right subject… giving it a try?

"I'm taking up law as well! Then we'll be in the same class."

We talked for almost an hour before it was finally our turn. It was because some of the students were having problems in registration or they were just asking a lot of questions.

I went towards the counter, somehow feeling a bit nervous.

The person sitting behind the counter was a lady by the name of Jihyo. She had her hair tied neatly and wore black framed specs.

"Good morning." I greeted and sat down.

"Morning. May I have these documents?" She pointed to a list on the table.

"Here they are." I handed the file of papers and waited as she checked.

"You're taking law studies?" She said while flipping through the pages.

"Yes." I replied.

"Your file is complete. And… here's your temporary timetable, starting today. The actual timetable won't be out until next week. This week is the orientation week. You'll have to be at the assembly later at 10.00am. Please check your name and information here and sign. Then, you're done with the registration." She gave instructions and I nodded and nodded.

"Thank you." I signed the paper and went to the side to wait for Krystal.

Meeting 'The New Family' (2)

"Oppa!" Jimin ran out of the kitchen. Her reaction surprised Hyesun. Hyesun went to see who it was, keeping a little distance since she don't want to be such a busybody.

"Hey! My princess, had your lunch?" It was a deep voice... like Yoohwan's. In fact, the guy looks like Yoohwan too...

"Yes! Oppa, have you had yours?"

"I skipped. Hehehe..." He scratched his head and gave a goofy laugh.

"I've made a cake. Come try it!" Jimin said excitedly, pulling the guy's arm.

"Is it nice?"

"Yeah! Hyesun unnie said so!"

"Hyesun?" The guy had a big question mark on his head.

"Oops, I forgot. She's the student from SNU..."

"Her?" The guy pointed to Hyesun who was still standing at the kitchen doorway.

"Hello. Nice to meet you." Hyesun greeted, a little embarrassed.

"He's my OLDest brother. Yoochun oppa." Jimin emphasizing the words "old".

"I'm Micky Yoochun. Why do you have to emphasize old?" Yoochun introduced himself then carried his sister bridal style. Jimin tried to resist but she was just too light.

"Let's go try your cake. Hyesun, want a cup of cappuccino?" Yoochun asked as he neared the kitchen.

Hyesun nodded while Jimin was still struggling to get Yoochun to put her down.

"Duuu.... Duuu... Duuu..." Hyesun waited for the phone. It was already 8pm.

"Hello?" A lady answered it.

"Hello mummy." Hyesun said as a smile formed on her face. Yeah, it's only been like half a day, but she love hearing her mother's voice.

"Hyesun! Why didn't you call when you arrive? You should have called hours ago! Have you had your dinner? And how is the place?"

" Something came up hahaha... I've had dinner, rice cakes and dumplings mainly. And dessert too, prune cake. The room's nice and cozy. I'm getting used to it already." Hyesun said cheekily.

"Just out of the house for one day and you're already so proud?" Her mother faked a sigh.

"Mom, I was just kidding." Hyesun pouted.

"I know my daughter, okay? Anyway, why didn't you call earlier?" Her mother asked again.

"Emm traffic?" Hyesun lied. She decided to tell her about the incident next time...

"Aigoo. It shouldn't be that bad... you must have gone the wrong way... you got lost rite?? You ah, clumsy daughter..." Hyesun laughed it off.

"Mom, how's it there?" Hyesun asked.

"Hmm... the usual... Your father playing under the hot sun for hours, attending to his garden... I cleaned up your shelf today. Hyesun can you tell me why do you have to keep 3 boxes of papers?"

"Mom, you didn't throw them away, rite?? They're important to me. You didn't throw rite??" Hyesun panicked.

"I just tidied the place and got rid of the thick dust. I promise, I did not throw you stuff." Her mother tried to calm her down. Somehow, the boxes were always a sensitive topic. Her mother knew Hyesun stored papers in those boxes but never asked what they were.

"Thanks mom. Thank you for helping me clean up and not throwing my things."

"Hmm... How's Mrs. Park? How's the people there?"

"I didn't get to see Mrs. Park today. Her daughter, Jimin said she had to go out of town and will be back. Jimin's sooo cute! She's 4 years younger than me. Then there's her 2 older brothers, Yoohwan and Yoochun. Jimin said one's a boss of a small company and the other's a writer..."

The mother and daughter conversed until Hyesun was nagged to go to bed. Well... she does have a record of waking up late...
