"Aigoo... how long is it going to take to finish this question..." the girl sighed while looking at her assignment in her room. It was already 3.00 am in the morning but she must complete her homework before tomorrow 9.00 am.
A gust of wind came through the window, making her shiver. She went to close it so that she won't catch a cold.
Suddenly, the phone rang. Her heart skipped a beat. Who would call at this time?!
She went to answer it as it rang the third time.
"Hello?" She waited for an answer.
There wasn't any.
"Hello? Who is this?" She waited... 1... 2... 3... 4... ... ... 10.
There was no answer and she ended the call, a bit frustrated. Why would anyone want to do such a prank in the middle of the night!?
As much as she didn't want to, she went back to her table to face the assignment. A chill ran down her spine when she sat back at her seat.
Rereading the question, she realized that she couldn't concentrate.
The old fridge in the kitchen groaned.
The wild dogs outside were whining.
The alarm clock ticked louder than usual.
She turned around to observe her surrounding. She was already breaking a cold sweat.
"Calm down, you're just scaring yourself," she said out loud. But it wasn't helping much.
She closed her eyes and took a big breath, taking in air to fill her lungs. Not feeling any energized to finish her assignment, she took her cell phone to start a game of "snake".
Before her finger could touch the "menu" button, the phone vibrated and sang the chorus of a song.
~~why won't you accept me~~was I the wrong one~~
It wasn't her ringtone. Or maybe her friend changed it earlier in class...
She decided to look at the screen first to know who's calling.
"Honey <3"
Something was wrong... she never saved such a number with "Honey <3"
Even thou scared, she took the courage and pressed "answer".
She put the phone close to her ear to wait for a response.
"Seohyun..." A deep, hoarse voice called her name. It made her shiver.
"W... who... who is this?" She stuttered.
"Seohyun, I miss you..." Terrified, she quickly ended the call and jumped into her bed. Leaving the unfinished homework, she forced herself to sleep.
