"I'm not performing tonight." The singer turned and left.
"What? How am I going to start a concert without a singer? Wait!" The owner of the place was desperate. This was not a good thing for the launching of his shop.
It took him a lot of phone calls and time and money to get the singer. And she walks away after taking her money?? Without performing???
"Do any of you know any singers or bands or just any kind of performance? Anyone we can get in half an hour?" The owner asked his staff after telling them the horrible news.
They shook their heads.
"Jillie can sing." someone voiced out and Jillie was pushed to the front.
"Roy!!" Jillie said in frustration.
"Can you sing? Just for tonight? I'll give you the fee. Just one day?" The elder man was nearly begging her.
"I... I... I'll try..." Jillie stuttered.
"I'll help out too!" Roy said almost immediately after their boss thanked Jillie.
"Thank you. You can go get ready, I'll try to cover more of the tasks here. Go, go, go." The boss shoved them into the dressing room and later dashed to the kitchen to help out.
"You could have just said you wanted to perform." Jillie hit Roy's arm as she mumbled.
"Nah... he was looking for a singer. I only know a little guitar." Roy tried to cool her down.
"Says the guy who shouted I'LL HELP OUT TOO!!!" Jillie stared at him while the volcano inside her was steaming.
"We have to rush. Go dress yourself up a bit." Roy smiled and shoved her to the closet.
He flipped through the closet and chose a soft pink color dress.
"There. Now go change and hurry up." Roy said and left the room.
He knows...
Jillie, hurry up!" Roy knocked on her door as he checked his watch.
"Okay..." Jillie hesitated as she opened the door.
Roy then led her to the chair and start fiddling with the make up and her hair.
"When did you become a professional makeup artist?" Jillie asked while she tried to calm her heart down for the performance.
"Umm... part time job as a photographer?"
"And when was that?" Jillie asked, curious to know how he was so... gentle yet quick...
"Last week." Roy smiled as he finished the last touches.
Jillie didn't bothered to check herself in the mirror. She... didn't know how to anyway...
"You look beautiful." Yenn smiled as Jillie was standing by behind the stage.
"Thanks." She smiled shyly.
"Here's the song!" Roy came a little later, holding the music sheet and his guitar.
"Okay, okay~ Kids, don't be nervous, just relax and do what you can. I'm counting on you. Now go, and surprise the crowd!" The owner said and disappeared after that. Probably into the small crowd.
