"Help me with table 14."
She finished wiping table 8 and proceeded to the one next to
it. There were a few customers but since the part timers are not here today,
it's much more hectic for the workers.
"Alright. Table 5 wants cappuccino." Her co-worker
nodded and walked towards the table of empty cups and plates.
"Got it." She went to prepare the beverage while
her co-worker was stacking the plates.
As she was placing the cup on the saucer, she felt a warm
breath of air at her neck. She smiled a little, knowing that he was behind her.
"The cappuccino's done." She said, wiping the side
of the cup.
"I know."
Hands wrapped her waist gently, a feeling she recognized
immediately. She slowly turned around, making sure to not knock the cup.
"Hi." Putting her arms around his neck, she
tiptoed to give him a light kiss on the lips.
Her heartbeat wasn't calm yet she maintained calm on the
outside.
She felt herself blush but she was sure he didn't see it.
"I suggest we go get popcorn and watch a movie."
He said, observing her facial expression. Even until now, he still finds it
hard to read her.
She nodded, contented at the thought of going for a movie
after a busy day.
"Nice!" He pushed something into her palm and took
the cappuccino to be served to the customer. She looked at her palm to see what he had give her.
It was a paper folded rose. A pink one.
She couldn't keep in her smile as she carefully kept the
rose in her pocket. She continued her work inside the kitchen because the
dishes need to be washed.
While she was at the sink, a small boy walks in and stops
suddenly. He looked around. It looks like he wasn't sure what to do.
"Are you looking for the toilet?" She bent down
and asked him.
He nodded, as expected.
"It's right there." She pointed the direction and
he ran towards it.
"You know? We need to refill the storeroom. There's not
much left." The cook said while checking the logbook for the food stocked.
"Ah... really? How many days?"
"I'm guessing about... 4 days more?" The cook
estimated the amount of food left in the storage.
"Then I'll go restock tomorrow. Do you have anything
you want to buy? I'll get it together." She wiped her hands dry and went
beside the cook to see the book.
"I'll list them down at the remark area here." The
cook pointed at the logbook.
"Then I'll go tomorrow evening. So you have time to
list the things." She said while scrubbing the pan in the sink.
