Teachers' Day

We had celebrate Teachers' Day in school...

We went to school carrying only a small bag instead of the pile of books. It was drizzling, but stopped when the ceremony started. After singing the national anthem, there was a speech from the representative of the PIBG. There was also a Silat performance by the Malay students.

Later, there was a teacher that gave a speech of how to become a good teacher, of course, it was actually a performence by a few teachers and a class of students. We were very surprised as it was the first time the teacher sang on stage. I gotta admit that their voices were quite good. After that, the teachers all went up on stage and sang the Teachers' Day song.

There was a prize giving ceremony too. It was for the dedication, inspiration, service given by the teachers in our school. There was also a prize for the teachers that had been teaching for at least 30 years!

All the students went to the school field to see the teachers competing in various games. My friends and I didn't see the show as there was just too many students crowding around the teachers. We went to the canteen to rest and then walked around the field again.

About one and a half hour before school ends, we went to the hall to see performances by students and teachers. There was an Indian dance, everyone was shouting their heads off! Later, there were 2 teachers singing a song by Mawi.

There was also a poem recited by one of the prefects for an English teacher. She was escorted on stage and the boys on stage went down on one knee to tell the teacher what she has done for them and the girls too told the teacher how much they love her. When it was over, the teacher was in tears. It was such a lovely scene.

The principle and one of the higher rankings teacher were invited to sing on stage. I gotta say, it was slightly awkward to see 2 teachers that are so serious at every second in school to sing a song together. There was also a performance of dikir barat by the teachers and students.

It was a bit tired to wake up early just to go to school, but to celebrate Teachers' Day, it was worth it. Every teacher, no matter if they have taught us or not, treated us good or bad, they are still teachers, teaching the younger generations, giving them a lighted path......

Form 4 Mid Year Exam...

Two weeks of the mid year exam has finally pass by. After one week of Teachers' Day, it's back to 4 days of exam and hello to holiday.

In the 2 weeks, I had suffered quite a lot. The exam papers were quite tough for me. I only started studying one day before the first paper, Malay. Somehow I always think that examinations is to test how good I am understanding about the subjects. To tell the truth, even if I do get tips, I don't remember them until the last 30 minutes before the exam starts and I'll flip through the pages to get a glimpse of what is going to be in the test.

I had also struggled a few days before the exam started, somehow I felt down and frustrated for about 3 days. I had cried and refused to study, even if I was trying to read by myself. It was terrible!

Somehow, I also felt worried for my classmates. I saw that they were studying so hard, giving stress to themselves. One of my best friends was already having a flu for 2 weeks. She had not recover yet and was still studying so hard for the exam. I felt admiration because of her determination, worried because she was suffering.

Well, the toughest week is over and only the additional maths, civic and physical education papers are not done yet. After this, I really need to have a time table... ... ... ...
